Feliz día de la Bicicleta :)

Las bicicletas NO son para el verano.
Bikes aren´t just for summer time.

Some years ago, it was really weird to see people riding their bikes in Madrid city center. Fortunately this has changed.

One of the things I used to like when I lived in The Netherlands was the bike culture they had there. In Holland almost everybody use the bike daily for different activities such as go to work, pick up the kids from school, make the grocery shopping, go out for party etc.

As you can imagine, the cities, and also small towns are perfectly adapted to bike riding. Moreover, bikers always have preference from car drivers.

At the beginning, when I arrived I thought that it wasn´t necessary to have a bike, just three days after I both one, and one month after I replaced for a better one... The bike became something indispensable for me.

Related to this, emerge bike´s culture.

For example, people started to personalize their bikes, and believe me, it is very useful specially in bike´s parking’s. I do the same with mine. I used some animal print tape, bought a cool bell, and the most important thing: a wooden box to put bags on it.

Another popular thing in this sense is bikes´ cafes, and cafes with bike repair service.

Se llama Lola bikes and coffee.

In Madrid the most famous place for this is "La Bicicleta".

Today the place I´m talking about is located in Den Haag (Holland): Lola´s bikes andcoffee. I love this place.

As is usual in Holland the staff was very kind. Moreover, the coffee there is one of the best I have ever tried.

If you ever visit this city, please stop by this place, I´m sure you will like it!

HAPPY DAD´S DAY

As you know, last Saturday was Dad´s day. For me, it´s one of the most difficult present to find.
My father loves sports, but if I want to buy him something related to this, I have to ask him first, and I rather give him a surprise.
Therefore I decided to make this video form him about our last trip to Canada.

I hope you like it!

Life in Scotland

I had in mind to travel to Scotland but I always find an excuse to post pond this trip. “Maybe I could go when the weather becomes better; or wait till I have some days of Holidays…” I used to say to myself.

“You have to take some days off” - my boss told me. So, I just texted my friend Nuria, and booked my ticket to Edinburg.

We didn´t have too much time to organize the trip. And I believe that sometimes is better like this; you don not get stress looking the best restaurant, or places to visit…

After a very funny flight (I travelled with an Spanish rugby team, who improvise a party in the plane), there was my friend Nuria waiting for me at the Airport.

We drove 3 hours more or less, that where very useful to catch up with Nuria. That Night I couldn´t see very well where I was. It was a very nice surprise to wake up in such a nice place:

Here lives my friend Nuria, with a very nice women called Lesley, Isra, and the little Sam.

Aberdeen in the nearest city from to Lesley´s home. Here there are some pictures of Aberdeen at night:

While Nuria was training, I had a walk trough Aberdeen and bought a book (to read and practice my English).
It was difficult to find a quiet place to read and drink a coffee, as at that time all of the bars where crowded of people drinking some beers. But I finally found this one, as you can see in the picture, is a perfect place for what I was looking for:

We also visited other places or this area:

PETER HEAD

DUNDEE

Además me atendieron fenomenal.

If you ever visit Dundee, I recommend you this place to have lunch. The customer service is pretty good.

And if you like vinyls, Groucho´s is your shop.

Is true that Dundee isn´t a place full of things to visit, but is charming.

SLAIN CASTLE

One of the places I liked most was this old Castle.

ABERDEEN´S BEACH

Here there are some pictures of Aberdeen´s beach. Because of the weather, as you can imagine, people doesn´t come here for sunbathing or swimming. Despite, it is a very nice place to have a walk or just relax watching the sea.

OTHER PICTURES OF THE TRIP...

“To be continued…”

And the perfect place to finish the trip: Edinburg. To be continued in the next post :)

I would like to say thank you to Lesley for being so kind with me and made me feel like at home. It was a pleasure to meet you, and I hope to see you soon (and to Samito as well!!).

And a big Kiss to Nuria and Isra. I spent a very good time with you, thanks for al the funny moments hehehe. You are the best my friend!
